Dr (Major) Vimal Raj is a renowned cardiothoracic radiologist and heads the Cardiothoracic Imaging Unit (CIU) of Narayana Hrudayalaya (NH) Bangalore, India. NH is a large tertiary care facility which specialises in the management of complex cardiac diseases of national and international patients.
Dr (Major) Vimal Raj has the distinction of having worked in 4 of the leading cardiothoracic units in the world (Royal Brompton-London, Papworth Hospital- Cambridge, Glenfield Hospital- Leicester and NH- Bangalore). He has also worked with the Army and deployed in the war zone in Afghanistan.
He is an excellent speaker and passionate educator who has trained more than 1000 doctors around the world. He also conducts regular internationally accredited fellowship programs in his unit.
He has published three books and multiple book chapters. One of his books on FRCR anatomy has helped numerous doctors in passing their exams. He has published nearly 100 articles in world-renowned journals and holds a patent in catheter design for post-mortem CT coronary angiography.
